Phoenix Ferns suffered their first defeat of the season against local Harrogate rivals HiLites.
The match was close throughout with neither team being able to stretch their lead to more than two goals. Ferns had the edge going into the last quarter and held a three goal advantage going into the last five minutes. However, a number of errors in possession handed HiLites the opportunity to level the game, which they seized.
HiLites capitalised on the momentum of the game swinging in their favour and sealed a three goal victory.
Ferns did produce some periods of flowing netball, with player of the match Lizzie Hughes (GK) excelling in defence.
