Phoenix Ferns 51 - 20 Scarborough

Phoenix Ferns kick-started their season with a comfortable victory over Scarborough in the Riding Cup/Plate. Ferns were in control from the first quarter, who worked the ball down the court well with some neat passing from Alice Hardy and George Radcliffe.

Throughout the game these moves were finished off through some excellent attacking play in the shooting circle with consistently accurate shooting from Shauna Mulligan, Emma McAra and Steph Davies.

Not to be outdone the defence team of Wendy Sharp, Vicky Heap and Lizzie Hughes all worked hard to turnover numerous Scarborough attacks, creating the platform for the attack.

A convincing win secured entry into the Cup aspect of the competition.
