Phantoms took another win this week beating Unicorns 36-20.

It was a tough match with Unicorns off to a strong start. It was several minutes before the first goal was scored and Phantoms soon found themselves 5-1 down. However, with a burst of determination and great defending from player-of-the-match D.Thomas (GD) and Tracey Horner (GK), the first quarter finished even, 6-6.

With a change in position for Rachael Dodds to (GK) and a substitution to bring on Felicity O’Leary as (WD), both teams fought hard and with great shooting from Alicia Lugg (GS) and Katie Ulett, (GA) we completed the second quarter with an even score again, 11-11. With a change in position for Debbie Reed, from (C) to (WA) and great passing into the circle, Phantoms managed to take the lead and finished the third quarter with a 3 goal lead, 20-17.

For the final hurdle, the attacking team shifted positions and Captain Hayley Waldridge was put in to (GA). She worked well with Laura Harris (GS) who was brought on in the third quarter and Phantoms pulled together to finish the game 36-20.

This would not have been possible without the support on the side-line form Rebecca Waters, Anne Handley and Patsy Russell.

This win puts Phantoms firmly on top of the HDNL Division 2 table, and still undefeated.
